We are a Hong Kong based consulting company providing civil engineering services to general contractors, specialist contractors, architects, developers, railway authorities, utility companies and alike.

 

Our key people are:

 

Nick Kwok - Director

Nick has a particularly strong academic background and excellent analytical skills with over 20 years of experience since graduation.  He has gained practical design and management experience working in some of the major contracting and consulting firms.  He has expertise in the design of various civil engineering works such as deep basements and tunnels, different foundation systems, water and earth retaining structures, slope stabilization, highway and railway bridge structures, railway stations, and building structures.  He also has experience in site formation, drainage, and maritime structure design.  He is sensitive to the value attached to different engineering designs and particularly experienced in providing cost-effective engineering solutions for challenging civil engineering works.  He is familiar with the day-to-day operation and organization, management, planning of construction sites and different methods currently being used in civil engineering and construction.

 

Particular projects of note that he has been involved with include:  West Kowloon Expressway North Section, French International School Extension, KCRC/MTRC CC402 West Rail Nam Cheong Station, Viaducts & Tunnels, KCRC East Rail LCC 300 Lok Ma Chau Terminus, Grade Separated Interchange T1/P1/P2 in Tseung Kwan O, Brisbane Airport Link Tunnel – Toombul Jacked Box, MTR SIL C901 Admiralty Station and Central-Wanchai Bypass Central Interchange Section.

 

Also, he has been participating actively in the cutting-edge research in structural and material engineering such as: shape-finding procedure for cable-supported bridge involving non-linear cable behaviour, genetic structural optimization algorithm, finite strip static and dynamic analysis in anisotropic materials such as multi-layer laminated graphite-epoxy composite folded-plate structures.  

 

Christian Koehler - Director

Christian has a very strong academic background, having graduated as a Diplom Ingenieur (Dipl.-Ing.) from the German University of Karlsruhe. He has 15 years of experience in the design and construction of major infrastructure projects world-wide. His broad technical engineering experience covers large span bridges and complex underground structures.  As a Design Manager he has track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams with a ‘best for project focus’ and for being a pro-active leader to ensure both technical quality and the successful and timely delivery of the project.

 

Further, Christian has a strong technical understanding of the structural engineering principals that underpin the design of complex structures and has a broad base of experience covering the all phases of design development, from feasibility studies to detailed design, value management and construction engineering.  In the specialist field of Cable Stayed Bridges he has also lead the construction engineering services and temporary works designs for projects in North America, Central America and Asia.

 

Having worked as both an Engineering Consultant and as a Technical Manager for a Contracting Organization he brings to his projects a strong understanding of the design and construction processes and is recognized for his ability to develop technically challenging permanent works designs around sound, practical construction methodologies.

 

Some of the particular projects he has been involved with during his career include: Taiwan High Speed Rail (Taiwan), detailed design, temporary works design and erection engineering for the Second Bridge across Panama Canal (Panama), erection engineering and temporary works design for Stonecutters Bridge (Hong Kong), temporary works design and construction engineering for the Golden Ears Bridge (Canada), tender design for Al Sowwah Bridges (Abu Dhabi), and just recently the contractors alternative design for the new Admiralty Station in Hong Kong.
